Joe Pete Scholarships
The Joe “Pigskin” Pete Scholarships (formerly the ESPN 970 WFUN Scholarships) were established in 2007 by Joe Pete to help support Ashtabula County’s Student Athletes as they continue their educations and playing careers at the collegiate level. Each Ashtabula County School is allowed to nominate up to 2 candidates each year. To date, the scholarship as given out more than $70,000. After his passing in 2012, the Scholarships were renamed in Memory of Joe.
